Computer Science for Kids

Your son or daughter wants to learn coding?

With Code.org's Course D, your son/daughter will learn the basics of Computer Science in a fun way. The initiative is supported by companies such as Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and many others with the aim of making Computer Science accessible to everyone.
When the students have finished these courses, they will be able to apply their knowledge on a project: Programming a Robot with LEGO® Mindstorms®.
This course aims at students from ages 10 up to 12. In pairs of two, they will be introduced into the concepts of computer science and will be challenged with computer science problems. A maximum of 8 children per course will be allowed for optimal guidance.
For the project, all 8 students will need to collaborate to accomplish their goal. Each student will be assigned a part of the job to work on individually. In the end, they need to come together as a team and put together their code in order to fulfill their project.

Who am I?

My name is Sven Thijssen. I am studying Computer Science at KU Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven) in Belgium. I am currently in my third year, pursuing my bachelor's degree. According to Reuters, KU Leuven was Europe's most innovative university in 2017.

I have discovered the wonderful world of programming when I was older. Therefore, I wish to introduce computer science to young children.
